Authentic Handcrafted Zellige Tiles
Your Zellige tiles are handmade by craftsmen at our factories in Tangier. This traditional tile is made from raw, light-coloured unrefined clay sourced from the Atlas Mountains. The clay is mixed and kneaded with water, moulded by hand, sun-dried before firing in a kiln.
The fired biscuit - known as Bejmat - is then glazed, tile by tile, in a wide variety of colors and shades. Following a second firing, the glazed pieces are cut into tiles of various shapes and sizes.
